It’s already another week, I can’t believe it. Or rather, the end of another week. Either way, my flash fiction piece comes today once again by that badass blog over at https://rochellewisofffields.wordpress.com/.

And what my weird mind came up with —
Music to End the World.
Tommy dashed through the woods, his backpack full of instruments bouncing hard with each frantic step. A tree to his right cracked and splintered. They were shooting at him.
“Crikes!” He croaked, leaping over a log. A limb above his head exploded into splinters and rained down on him.
“Give us the reeds, boy!”
“And my sticks!”
The shouts were close. He didn’t dare slow down. He was the only one left, the only one not in the ‘band.’
His town was lost to the Musicians, but he could still save the world. He only needed to stop the Music.
Also I have to say that this picture has given birth to a new idea which I’ll work on in the future, something for a MG book, actually.
This was the most original story i have come across so far for this prompt…Love it!

Dear Ray,
I’ve always felt there was great power in music. You’ve shown that to us in your unique take on the prompt. Nicely done.
